Flight of the Bumblebee

as promised, I'd let you know if I thought I'd managed to record a relatively decent version of "Flight of the bumblebee", a famous classical piece of music. I've recorded it in "Wendy Carlos style", track by track, carefully constructing polyphonic parts layer by layer, as my MOTM is monophonic.
All sounds on this recording is my MOTM synth, recorded directly into Logic 8, using a few build in fx and processing to 'sweeten' things up a little, but nothing fancy.
You can download it at my download site.
UPDATE: have refreshed the recording with a newer version, that doesn't cut off, and has a slightly better defined melody line.

Hope you enjoy it.

Excellent! Great work! More cowbell! (just kidding)

Can you mix the main melody up a bit? It gets burried behind the chords somewhat. Otherwise it's fine!

yup, should do that, I posted it a bit too early I guess, but I will work on it some more this week and freshen it up.

Great job. It cuts off at the end but otherwise it was fantastic. Maybe a bit more reverb?

Newer version has now replaced the older one, melody is a little better defined. Tried the more reverb, but the fast parts tend to drown quickly that way. Will try a few other settings..

it was tricky getting all parts exactly in tune, and if you listen you can hear that I didn't entirely succeed yet, funny thing was that i didn't discover that until I played it back through the thin speakers of a laptop, through good headphones and a hifi system, other parts are more audible so that the imperfections drown out a bit... odd...
